ESP32, Sensors, Apps and Dashboards
IoT Project Support Malaysia
IoT project support for sensor monitoring, automation, alerts, dashboards and mobile app integrations using platforms such as ESP32, Arduino, Firebase and Blynk.
Sensor-to-cloud workflows with clear live demo outcomes
Support for alerting, dashboards, relay control and data logging
Scope planning for ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LoRa, MQTT, Firebase or Blynk
Who This Helps
- Students building environmental, agriculture, safety or automation IoT systems
- Teams that need a dashboard, app or database connected to hardware
- Projects that require SMS, Telegram, WhatsApp-style alerts or push notifications
What We Clarify
- IoT system architecture and data flow
- Sensor and controller recommendation
- Dashboard/app/database integration direction
- Testing plan for connectivity, sensor reading and actuator response
- Limitations around network, calibration, power and enclosure
Quality Checks
- Sensor accuracy is explained honestly
- WiFi, cellular or LoRa range limitations are stated
- Power supply and relay safety are considered
- Dashboard data is useful, not decorative only
Process
How the service is scoped
The goal is to make the project explainable and buildable, not to overpromise features that cannot be tested before presentation.
Choose the sensor/control objective
Select controller and communication method
Build local sensor reading and actuator logic
Connect to dashboard, app or database
Test latency, reliability, alerts and edge cases

Useful Components
BME280 Environmental Sensor
BME280 measures temperature, humidity and pressure using I2C or SPI. It is a cleaner choice than DHT sensors for compact weather station and environmental monitoring projects.
ESP32 Development Board
The ESP32 is a low-cost microcontroller board with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. It is one of the most useful boards for Malaysian FYP projects involving sensors, mobile apps, dashboards, Blynk, Firebase or Telegram alerts.
LoRa SX1278 Module
SX1278 LoRa modules are used for long-range, low-data-rate communication between sensor nodes and gateways. They are useful for agriculture, flood and remote monitoring FYP projects.
MQ135 Air Quality Sensor
MQ135 is a popular gas sensor module used in air quality projects. It can react to gases such as ammonia, alcohol, benzene and smoke, but it is best used for relative trend detection rather than accurate certified PPM measurement.
SIM800L GSM Module
SIM800L is a small GSM module used for SMS and call alerts. It is popular in older Arduino FYP projects, but it needs a strong power supply and depends on 2G network availability.
Soil Moisture Sensor
Soil moisture sensors are used to estimate whether soil is dry or wet. Cheap resistive probes are common for demos but corrode over time, so capacitive probes are better for longer projects.
FAQ
Common questions
Which controller is best for an IoT FYP?
ESP32 is usually the best starting point for WiFi IoT projects because it has built-in WiFi, enough GPIO and strong community support. Arduino is better for simpler offline control.
Should I use Firebase, Blynk or MQTT?
Blynk is fast for mobile dashboards, Firebase is good for custom apps and databases, while MQTT is better for more professional IoT architecture.
What makes an IoT project strong for presentation?
A strong IoT demo shows live sensor readings, meaningful alerts, clear actuator response, logged data and honest discussion of limitations.
